Frequently Asked Questions
How can my family get our own Bedtime Bunny?
A magic carrot is included inside each book. With their parents’ help, each child should write his or her name and bedtime on the carrot, and leave it outside the front door at bedtime on the first night. A bunny will smell it from the magic forest, and come hopping! Your bunny will keep the carrot (it’ll be his or her key to get in each night). Look for a sign from the bunny in the morning when you wake up. After that, he or she will continue to hop to your house each night!
How often will our bunny leave a surprise?
In the beginning, the bunny leaves something very often – sometimes every night – so the children know he or she has been there. After a while, it might be just on special occasions like a birthday, and sometimes “just because” as a surprise! This keeps it fun and exciting, and helps to remind children that the bunny is always hopping, every single night.
What will our bunny leave?
Every bunny is different. Most of the bunnies are very young, so their magic is not strong enough to leave large presents very often. Some bunnies prefer to leave things like notes and stickers, while others leave sweet treats and small toys from time to time.
Can I write my bunny a letter?
Absolutely, just leave it inside your front door. He or she might even write back! The bunnies do prefer when the notes come directly from the kids, whenever possible. If fact, the story told in The Bedtime Bunny was the result of several letters back and forth from the first Bedtime Bunny, and the children that live on Red Fox Lane.
Should I give my bunny a name?
Yes, if you’d like to! Some kids like to give their bunny a name, others just call him or her “the Bedtime Bunny”.
Do bunnies ever take vacations?
Yes, most do take vacation. Some bunnies like to take the month of December off, especially for families who celebrate Christmas and have an Elf on the Shelf to keep an eye on things. Other bunnies take vacation when your family does!

Find the Hidden Carrots
